Atlas Counseling is not in-network with insurance companies. You may use a health savings debit card or debit/credit card through the electronic health record (Simple Practice), as well as check or cash payment. If you do use a health savings card, it is possible that a diagnosis could be necessary.

Individual Therapy Fees

$75 – 30 minutes
$150 – 60 minutes
$200 – 90 minutes
$300 – Diagnostic Assessment or Comprehensive Evaluation (1-2 hours)

Payment

Payment is invoiced through Simple Practice, where credit, debit, HSA debit cards or checking information can be saved in a secure online format.

Diagnosis

A diagnosis is not needed if insurance is not being billed; and may be needed if submitting invoices for reimbursement from health savings or medical flex accounts. For some, a diagnosis is helpful for obtaining services or outside support, and can be helpful for understanding impact of symptoms. However, for others, diagnosing can be a barrier to receiving care. We will work within your preference and needs can be accommodated.

Out of Network Benefits

If you would like to bill your insurance for out of network benefits, we can provide you with an invoice or Super Bill that will include all the information needed for you to be reimbursed with your out of network benefits. If you have questions about out of network benefits, please call your insurance customer service number and inquire about the following:

• Is out-of-network coverage for mental health services provided under the policy?
• Does a deductible apply, and if there is a yearly deductible has it been met?
• Is there a limit to the number of sessions covered per year? If so, how many are covered?
• How much will the carrier pay (or reimburse you) for each session?
• Where should you send invoices?
• Does the plan require pre-approval by the insurance carrier for benefits to apply?

Discounts or Sliding Fee

It is the policy of Atlas Counseling to provide essential services regardless of the client’s ability to pay at time of appointment. Atlas Counseling offers discounts and sliding fee rates based on identified need, no additional paperwork or documentation will be necessary. Please discuss concerns with the therapist and accommodations will be reviewed every 3-6 months.

Reduced fees are available to active and retired first responders, active military personnel, and veterans.
